Recently, the luxury hotels chain Grand Hotels Lux, had the courtesy of inviting us to participate in a beautiful travel experience in Iguazú. Our stay at their hotels while we visited the wonderful Iguazu Falls, has been amazing. Our local expert Lucila Coppini attended this trip and now that she is back, we want to share her experience so that you curious travelers can get to know about it.
The FAM tour of 2 nights and 3 days began with the departure from the city of Buenos Aires. After a flight of 1.45 hours, operated by the Andes Airlines, we arrive at the airport of Puerto Iguazú. The transfer, which already was waiting for us, drove us to the Panoramic Grand Iguazú Hotel, our first accommodation.
The reception with a welcome late-lunch was an excellent first impression. Located just 15 minutes away from the Iguazu Falls and two blocks away from the town of Puerto Iguazu, the Panoramic Grand features 91 rooms decorated in a contemporary minimalist style. This venue was built in the fifties, by reknown arquitect Alejandro Bustillo, and declared historical heritage by the local authorities. Even though it was remodeled, the original facade is very well kept. The Panoramic provides a wide variety of services: a Restaurant, a Coffee Store, Meeting rooms, Fitness centre, Spa, swimming pool with stunning views, Roman bath (hot tub) and Casino. Close to the center of the city, but at the same time isolated, Panoramic Grand offers a very quiet and exclusive atmosphere, ideal to relax and enjoy.
After visiting the Hotel, we embarked on a brief city tour that ended at the “Hito de las Tres Fronteras”, where the coasts of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay converge. On our way back to the hotel, we made a brief stop at The Argentine Experience, a place that offers a casual and cultural gastronomic experience ; excellent option for an evening out (note that you must book your place beforehand and it is open from Monday to Saturday).
The second day we headed Iguazú National Park. The entrance ticket has a value of $ 270 for Argentine tourists, $ 400 for tourists coming from Mercosur and $ 500 for the general public. The entrance for a second day has a discount of 50% in all cases. The tour around the park started on board the ecological train (included in the ticket). After a 30-minute ride, we arrive at the “Garganta del Diablo” Station, to see this magnificent phenomenon, the biggest jump of the Iguazu Falls; It is just awesome!
We continue our tour through the upper footbridges, to appreciate the falls from above. Around noon, we took a break and had lunch at one of the park’s buffet restaurants. And then, time for the great adventure arrived! An experience that combines a beautiful journey through the jungle, with a navigation through the canyon of the Iguazú River and the waterfall area, arriving to the second biggest jump, Salto San Martín. It was really fascinating! To end the visit to the park, we walked through the lower footbridges, which give the closest and more attractive views of the falls. Arriving at the end of the day, we moved to the second lodging of the FAM Tour, the Iguazú Grand, where we had an exquisite barbecue dinner and spent overnight.
In the morning of the third day, we made a complete tour around the Iguazú Grand Hotel, par excellence, the most luxurious in Puerto Iguazú. Located 15 minutes away from the Iguazu National Park and 20 minutes from the Airport, the Iguazu Grand Resort Spa & Casino features 134 spacious, comfortable and well-equipped suites. It offers a wide range of activities for the whole family. An exclusive space for children under 5 with a playground with a ball pit, a mini-theatre, a soft playground, a bouncy castle and many recreational activities. A Kids/Teens area wit Playstations, Nintendo, Wii, computers, table tennis and foosball. A recreational team that organizes great activities every day such as pool games, mini-golf, big-sized chess, climbing wall and zip line, themed parties, mini-chef cooking activities, juggling classes and art workshops. A Spa which offers different therapeutic treatments, massage, a water circuit that includes sauna, steam room, Scottish shower, relaxing room, indoor pool and a Roman bath.
Concluding the visit of the luxurious Iguazú Grand, our trip also came to an end. An express trip in which we were able to visit the main attractions of the destination, enjoying the comfort and luxury of the best accommodations. We especially thank Grand Hotels Lux for this invitation.
